The conversations should load with the history automatically
Like Skype for public, this app should load previous conversations in the same chat window. Currently we have to scroll through a list of chats maintained for each session. Instead, it should display conversations like Skype
After watching Microsoft ignite post my comments below; realized that Microsoft will not develop SFB. Their focused now on Teams that will completely replace SFB.
Lets save our breath and wait for Teams federation and skype features launching in near course.
I already started fully utilizing Teams in which I utterly give thumbs up to Microsoft.
By the way Teams has chat history feature and many of requested features we are asking for in SFB.
Why is Microsoft lazy???!!! Respond to users requests. This is a very important and urgent feature required by many many users. What's is going on?
Issue taking more than should to be resolved!!!

Just fix this asap, I am wasting so much time digging in my conversation history in outlook and repeating myself to others.

Please implement this with SfB Server 2019!
Or give us a client like MS Teams :)

Please, fix this Microsoft.. This feature is so needed.
I guess when Microsoft developers look at this feedback they see nothing because NO history showed up. So they just see blank page............
Please please FIX THIS!!!

I think Microsoft employees should use a different chat tool internally. It is very obvious the lack that this does in the experience to the user. It is a disfavor that the developers insist on not recognizing (maybe they are aliens and doesn't need the tool to remember the history).

There needs to be a way to merge the identical topics. There are almost 60000 votes for this, just spread out among several conversations.

I choose to use another chat for my business communications because of this issue alone. I love skype business but this is an absolutely necessary feature that needs to be fixed immediately. Being able to go back and look at important conversations is a very valuable asset. Cant believe this is even up for a vote. Please fix!

We migrated our team of 25 to SfB from a free product called Trillian. Not having conversation history is the #1 reason our team wants to use the old IM client. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! It seems SfB is very advanced and taking market share, but, I can't confidently keep it without basic functionality. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!
Hi team we are unable to find the recent chat history could you please help to fix the issue

Teams, Skype, Skype on the browser, Mobile Skype, Groups, Outlook.
the fragmentation is a horrible customer experience. In this day and age, I can't understand why this capability is lagging. It makes my job harder.

Not to mention that not having the conversation history in one place will also make compliance with GDPR from next May 2018 in the EU much harder - think of the retrieval for Subject Access Requests!
Microsoft need to accept that their product needs to change to meet these compliance requirements.
As Mitch pointed out below, it's abundantly clear that MS is putting little to no weight on user feedback as it relates to Skype for Business. Teams is the product that MS is putting most of its focus on right now; see how their uservoice community has a response from a MS rep on EVERY SINGLE top idea: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public
If would hop to Teams if you can, otherwise, use Zoom or Slack for video meetings.

Storing the history in a different product is completely counterintuitive. Name one other product that does this.
Not storing the conversation history in Skype for Business makes me loath using the product and makes me extremely hesitant to recommend the product to customers and colleagues.

Persistent chat across devices. Every other product does it. Why is this so hard?
