The Anger Emoticon is a blackface trope and should be updated
The anger emoticon in Skype for business is a callback to blackface humour. Which when put in context is indubitably racist.
There is very little difference between this video:
and the ‘anger’ emoticon in Skype 4 Business.
I believe that what the skype emoticon was / should be going for is ‘ashface’ as described here:
Some perspective on blackface:

I would really like to be contacted about this issue, with anyone who has the ability to affect change.
I would suggest perhaps a mushroom cloud or steam coming out of the ears.
Thanks for your time,
It's time to own up to it. https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+/master/styleguide/inclusive_code.md#racially-neutral
I am white guy from Delaware, so I'm not invested in this. I agree that the image is un-imaginative. But what i am more surprised by is that clearly zero thought has gone to the original request, other than the typical "well if gays can marry i'm going to marry my dog" type of ingenuity. Sure, if something blows up someones face gets covered in soot. A face covered in soot is not inherently funny but what makes it 'funny' (to some) historically is borne from minstrel shows, which were completely racist.
There is a reason that enlightened media developers with a whiff of historical and/or social context no longer use this trope that has it's foundations in racism which was clearly outlined in the link that it appears no one bothered to click.
It's 2019, try to keep up Microsoft. It's about being modern relevant and progressive, like Apple and Google. It's not about creating a forum where simple requests are tried in the court of closed-minded caucasian public opinion and left to die without taking a very simple action of course correction.
You're an idiot
If thats the case, I have some more suggections:
Remove the devil/angel - This could be offensive to athiests
Remove Emo - thats offensive to anyone who is actually emo and doesnt have that hair style
Remove Man and woman - that assumes gender or gender roles
Remove Punch - this promotes violence
Remove beer/martini - this promotes alcoholism or could trigger a recovering alcoholic
Remove rainbow - we cant just single out the LBGT community
See how ridiculous this gets? These could be valid claims. This is not a blackface trope. When something explosive blows up in your face, you get covered in the ash of whatever it is (given that the fuel of the explosion produces this). Thats the idea. Please stop
lol - you should be paying your company back for the time spent in coming up with this, if you did it on any company time. There's a white background to this? Does that offend you? I find more racism in you stating an obvious "burning with anger to the point of a burnt hue" somehow pointing to black people at all than the emoticon itself. Such a shame, the world we live in. Grow up and stop race baiting.
You have got to be kidding me... Get back to work.
The reference video is racist but it's driven by context and additional factor (such as the lips, gait and music).
It's not racist to have a face that has been burnt, which is clearly what is being depicted here. The same for example as the scene in Predator where the protagonist covers himself in mud. He's not doing blackface.
It's about the context (sometimes)
Yet no one has an issue with the face turning red??
Picking on indigenous people doesn't even get a mention...Let alone that all the 'comedic' emoticon faces start out as yellow??
Where are the Asians in all of this outrage??
Not all depictions of a person that appears to be dark are a reference to black people, and even assuming it were, not all depictions of black people are blackface. Blackface is the comedization and belittlement of black people in general. It's like saying "haha, you have dark skin, you're so silly." This emoticon is clearly a yellow face turning red and exploding before being covered in black soot. Suggesting that this is blackface is either dishonest or deluded. Comments like yours just seem like desperate attempts at virtue-signaling.

I support Dwayne's request. It's racist and offensive. This needs to be removed/replaced with a different image. I also support Dwayne's recommendation for steam coming out of the ears as a suitable alternative.
I agree with Dwayne. I'd like to think the creation of this emoji was done by accident, but with members of the alt-right surreptitiously entering racist memes in places where they work, this could have been an intentional design choice on the part of an individual.
Microsoft/Skype should change or remove this emoticon to show they don't support the propagation of racist memes, whether created intentionally or not.
