Make Skype for Business accessible for deaf people
According to Action on Hearing Loss, 70% of deaf people in the UK feel that their deafness prevents them succeeding in the workplace while it's been found that deaf people earn on average £2,000 a year less than hearing people. Skype for Business with Translate would enable us to enter the corporate world with more confidence, armed with the tools to help us interact with global teams and enter jobs otherwise out of our reach. It would be life changing for people like me, who have stayed in lower jobs for the 'safety' of it. I recently pushed myself out of my comfort zone and got a new job but most of the anxiety about my job is about the fact I cannot participate in Skype for Business calls. As my team are global there is no alternative and as calls are often unscheduled, organising a CART for the call is not always possible, and is expensive, too. Please Skype, help change our lives.
I can't understand why Skype for Business Translator is not available yet, when it is available for standard Skype users. I am also hard of hearing, and often struggle on a regular call.
should be good for everyone
Simply makes sense to let everyone have fair access
Deaf IT staff at our company would greatly benefit from this when taking trouble calls.
