There used to be a compact view. Its not available and chews up too much monitor space
Please allow in settings:
1. Make buttons less.
2. Hide Find control (but show a Find button aside of Settings button).
3. Hide "What's happening today".
This is not rocket science, here is what we want Microsoft:
Please comment if you agree...
I agree with everyone else, I want a more compact view so it won't take up so much space. I'm using a 1440x990 which isn't alot of space. Just making the head alone of the application smaller would save so much space. Why make a button that 1" square! Why put the update status under the user name? Put it on the side of the name.
can you remember how compact the ICQ was?
please make the window from Skype as small as possible!
I agree 100% with the original poster and with Dan's comment below that the GUI takes up WAY too much screen space even when the contacts are minimized into the compact view!!!
Please allow us to minimize the window to make it as small as we want and/or to scale it to smaller font!
There is an option for "compact view" but my concept of what "compact" should mean seems to be very different from that of your marketing people.
The GUI consumes far too much screen real-estate; there is more white space than text in the compact view. I realise that SfB is the thing that you get paid to work with, but I get paid to do other stuff. So, please stop making your career consume so much of mine's screen space. It can easily be optimised to take up half the width and one third of the current height for the same number of contacts.
Your "Share Desktop" view has similar flaws, so I suspect this may be a systematic problem in your thinking. I don't want a 4 square inch image of every participant in the meeting to obscure acres of my screen. If I maximum the size of the window, I want the image of the presenter's desktop to take up my full screen.
Please get someone to rework the UI as a matter of some urgency. This is supposed to be a business tool, not a toy.
