Ability to export Skype contacts and import to Skype for Business
Ability to export Skype contacts and import to Skype for Business.
Export Skype contacts with help of http://contacts.engineering/
In our organisation, we are using Skype for Business and with most large/global companies, we are split into may smaller entities and then into client accounts. My company has many 1000s of business units.
As such, when you are new to a business unit, its really handy to have a default list of mobile and skype contact lists relevant to that unit, almost a s a joiner process.
Is there a way that Skype for Business enables the export and import of contacts on the client machine. I see from the help that Skype for Desktop has the option but its not available in Skype for Business, which is strange.
Anyone know how I can get my contact list exported as a file and send it to people so they can import it?
Thanks in advance
There needs to be some easy migration /integration options urgently!
Some global businesses are heavily committed to Skype for Windows but need to bring everything in house under the O365 umbrella, but are unable to do so due to these problems.
How can MS promote their data security advances yet leave Skype for Windows leaking like a tea bag?!?!
Total GDPR failure which must be fixed asap.

I am getting a new machine very soon. I want to export my Skype for business contacts to the new machine. I spent a lot of time setting up my contacts. It has made communicating with business associates, family and friends much easier. Skype for business is a wonderful tool and saves so much time and effort. Please tell me there is a way to export my contacts!
Hi... Just discovered this PROBLEM - inability to transfer Skype contacts to SFB..... WHY? One would have thought this would be the first and most practcal function to accommodate! This approach hinders SFB adoption and is frankly crazy!
If you want SFB to be used and people to convert - put this function into the next release.
Need it, need it, need it NOW
It is a major barrier to adoption in our bisiness

I have been trying all weekend to migrate from Skype to Skype for business on a MAC laptop (due to Skype losing so many of it's best features) and am convinced that this is not possible. Am I wrong. Can't set a phone #, can't connect with any contacts and not intuitive at all. Am I wrong or is Skype for Business just not ready for a MAC and is there no ability to migrate/upgrade form Skype to Skype for Business?

I like having two different Skype clients and the way that there's no way to message normal Skype users from Skype for Business. This was a major selling point for me.
we just switched from Office Communicator to Skype for Business. It was practically transparent - all my groups and contacts were shared. It was WONDERFUL. On Friday. Then the company made backend changes over the weekend and all our groups and contacts are gone. Some improvement, company. :-(
Yes, frustrating. Why would we use two different Skype Systems. Should be available on Skype front page.
Yes, most frustrating. Have been using original skype, for business purposes and I just want to import all my existing contacts.... should be available on the skype for business front page.
