Currently the status of a member shows how many hours or minutes the person is away from the system or offline. For example: Offline 10 hours , Offline 12 hours , Away 15 mins etc.
As an operational manger, I would like to see the status of a member who actually worked for a given day i.e the status should show the logged in time and log out time with the time spent at desk on a day.
This will help us to track the working hours of each individual in a team and helps in performance metrics.
Agreed - this would be an easy way to ensure that all team members are available when they are supposed to be.
Why can’t I see how long I have been away? Others can, but I cannot. I may need to see how long I’ve been away from my desk to log in my time.
It's actually a very good idea. I would like to see this information as well and use it in metrics. Unfortunately, it seems workers nowadays require micromanaging instead of actually performing on the job. I hate micromanaging but when I see my employees up having conversations or away from their desk constantly I have no choice. I need this level of information to provide "proof" to HR that they are not performing adequately. Multiple conversations about it do nothing. Something like this is somewhat irrefutable. If people would spend more time being an asset to a company instead of chasing pokemon or gabbing about the local lunch specials this wouldn't be an issue.
After reading all the comments, I checked from where does this post come from.Treat offshore employees with same norms as u treat onshore guys.
this person requesting this sounded like a real communist that in charge of a concentration camp. OMG, get a life woman/man, who would want to work for you? why don't you see yourself in the shoes that your employees in, I bet you would love that Boss huh...
omg :) like in prison ! or labor camp :)
Skype for Business isn't designed to be a tool to Micro manage users. It's a collaboration to foster communication rather than sending email. I'd recommend Kronos, or TimeTrex they also have a community version if budget is an issue.
