Make Skype for Business more like Skype
I've been trying to push Skype for Business in our company that currently uses Skype seeing as how we can no longer manage Skype through an admin portal online, but there's just too many differences that make Skype for Business unusable:
Keep the same running chat history for each user instead of saving each individual conversation in Outlook history. Frankly, this is more confusing than it is helpful. If others find it a good idea, maybe there can be a choice on how chat history is dealt with.
Make it so Skype conversations can add Skype for Business contacts. We have a lot of contacts outside our business that still need to be included and would like to include us in their Skype conversation groups, but Skype for Business members don't seem to be allowed to be part of a regular Skype conversation group.
Let users message Skype for Business users who are offline. I shouldn't have to send them them an SMS when they can simply read the message I send them while they are offline later. Just let Skype for Business work like Skype across both platforms.
To encourage adoption, allow Skype accounts already in use to be merged with Skype for Business accounts. I know this would make it much easier for employees being stubborn about using Skype for Business over regular Skype to adopt, especially if they are able to keep all of their contacts without having to re-add them!
