Allow removal Skype Meeting from Outlook Meeting invitation
In Outlook once you add a Skype meeting you are unable to remove the Skype Meeting. You either have to cancel or use a very kluge workaround. Please fix!

Yes, don't understand why this feature is still present and why my Teams meeting invite keeps defaulting to Skype - please put tick boxes not drop down menus and fix this technical issue.
@Skype for Business why is this still happening? I cannot for the life of me remove Skype meetings from invites. Fix this issue! It's ridiculous!
VERY FRUSTRATING! Cannot BELIEVE this is still a problem! I want to replace Skype invitations with Teams invitations but found it impossible so far... RIDICULOUS!
For the Mac OS Outlook client, I can see a "meeting > Skype meeting > remove online meeting from invite" menu choice, but it is disabled. VERY FRUSTRATING! And participants keep connecting to the wrong meeting.
Please fix this.
I have one button to add the skype meeting. I want one button to remove it.
I'm not interessted in fumbling in the entrails of outlook to get some workaround.

This function should just work
The suggestion to remove the Skype add-in and then remove the Skype link information doesn't work for me. After using it, when I try to add a MS Teams meeting to replace the Skype one, I get a "We can't automatically convert Skype for Business meetings to Teams. To replace this meeting, cancel it and create a new Teams meeting." I'm not asking you to do it automatically! Just let me do it myself!
I had 4 screen-sharing sessions and a full recording of my skype meeting setup, for Microsoft support team, to identify that this feature of cancelling a skype meeting in a meeting invite is unavailable. I seriously doubt the competence of the MS support team and their ability to solve this issue. Anyhow, I hope Skype team recognizes this as a defect and fixes it soon. I have a lot of recurring meetings with senior management and I do not want to resend these invites.
If you delete the skype invite details then press Teams Invite a pop up asks if you would like to convert your meeting to a teams meeting, just press yes and its done :)
So now Microsoft officially announced that SFB is being replaced by Teams.
You'd think they'd have provided a mechanism to do the conversion without jumping through hoops. I've created a number of reoccurring meetings with large attendee lists that I'd hate to have to Cancel and Reschedule, all the while hoping that I get the same rooms (i.e. that they don't get snatched up in the meantime).
In the main Outlook window...File...Options...Add-In...In the "Add-ins" list, highlight "Skype...", click "Go" button at the bottom near "Manage/COM Add-ins", in the "COM Add-Ins" dialog box, un-check "Skype...", then click OK.
Then re-open your meeting invite. You will notice that the Skype add-in is no longer enabled.
Delete the Skype info from the meeting, and re-send your meeting invite. Voila.
I am impressed by how impossible it is for Skype to implement remove a meeting from Outlook... any IT people from Skype ever used this feature in Outlook?
For those Microsoft user who have been around as long as I have, you should know by now that Microsoft builds in some additional hassle features. Everything I use from Microsoft seems like it has the latest version of Hassle packaged in. Just look at this thread. I wish I was joking. ie 6.0 may you burn in ****
agree. This needs to be fixed. there are several "workarounds" (like going to options-> add-ins etc, removing the skype meeting text) but they are not clean. It doesn't remove the "Join Online" button on the reminder window which means most would click that anyway.
Microsoft got to fix this with a "Remove Skype meeting" button ASAP

I've removed the Skype add-in permanently (as per ThisWorks! method). Now I don't have to worry about clicking it by accident.
Absolutely ridiculous that there is no way to cancel OR modify an existing Skype meeting!
The work around suggested by ThisWorks! only succeeds in removing the skype information from the body of the email and removing the "Join Skype" button in YOUR instance of Outlook. The people receiving the meeting notice will still have a Join Skype meeting option which will bring them to nothing! I can also still see the Join Skype option on my mobile device.
Utter garbage from Microsoft/Skype! Now that I have added a conference call number to my Skype account, I have to delete all of my reoccurring meetings and create new ones with the updated Skype information.
Thanks for wasting my time!

It's even worse on the Mac version for which there is no workaround.
