Cloud PBX with PSTN calling in Canada
pak tech commented
First off I want to say great blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing. I’ve had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips?

How do we get a sense of how the preview is going? I took a look and I need 50 users to qualify for the preview. Assuming I won't hire 40 new people any time soon, how soon can I expect the plans to hit Canada?

Finally, some good news!
PSTN Calling in Canada is now registering in Skype preview.

No word at MS Ignite 2017...
I seriously check this forum like everyday. As I just moved from the states to canada I desperataly need this feature! The only hope I have is to check Pat Garcia post about skye for busisness preview coming to canada by end of 2017. I sure they they stay on track with this.
Oh my god, Microsoft take my money please! When will PSTN calling be available up here?
François Brault commented
PSTN is available in Canada. We are using it.
Now I just want to know if Cloud PBX works in Canada.
I see that I can buy a subscription in my Office 365 portal. Will it work?
I just saw this comment from a MS Program Manager for Skype for Business: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Skype-for-Business-Preview/PSTN-Calling-for-Canada/m-p/86143/highlight/false#M953
She says Preview will be available 2nd half of this year.

Can anyone tell me when MS Cloud PBX will be available in Canada? With many other countries now having this service, Canada is being left behind...
Unfortunately no. Under PSTN Calling - Expand to see where PSTN Calling can be purchased, it still says Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Netherlands, Spain, UK, and US. The other list shows what regions you can call if you have PSTN calling. Still can't believe it's not available yet in Canada.
I could be completely wrong, but according to this link below, it appears that PSTN calling is 100% available in Canada. Expand on all the drop-down items, and Canada is in each PTSN functional category.
how is this a CRTC issue, they just need to partner with local SIP providers...

Hop to it Microsoft, this is taking far too long. I can assure you it is not Canada Gov. (CRTC) that is the road block here. Other companies manage to be telephony providers without issue.

Our organization is ready to make the switch to Office 365 E5 plan to get the Cloud PBX and PSTN calling features - as soon as PSTN is made available in Canada.
Any ETA on this?
Where did you read it was planned to be available in Q1-2017 ???
It's May 20 and still not available.
I hear the problem is that the Canadian Government is giving some push back to let Microsoft be a regulated Telcom company and tap into the PSTN. ThinkTel offers a product where they host the Edge server, so you can be on the cloud and ThinkTel provides PSTN for $15/DID. This still has some cons as it's technical a hybrid solution so not all of the Cloud PBX features are available.
Given this, it would be nice if Microsoft can provide PSTN calling.

Scott, the Cloud PBX and PSTN Consumption licenses are available because you can have both of them without PSTN Calling.
For Cloud PBX, you can use an on-prem PSTN gateway with or without an on-prem deployment of Skype for Business.
For PSTN Consumption, you can have it to pay for things like dial in or out PSTN Conferencing with direct billing or to support toll free numbers.
I haven't seem PSTN Calling available in Canada yet. I have been told that it is available now (end of March 2017) but I have not been able to confirm that.
Well i was able to purchase the cloud PBX license, i was able to add funds to my Skype for business PSTN consumption but cant get a PSTN calling license. Why would you make these other options available? I read it was going to be Q1 of 2017, you have 15 days..
please add the skype cloud PBX , pstn calling feature in canada asap!
