Add Unassigned Number Handling or Forwarding
Currently, unassigned numbers only ring busy. Being restricted to assigning only 1 number per user, there is no option to handle unassigned numbers. We own a pool of numbers and cannot port them all in just yet as we do not want them to ring busy, but would prefer to have them forwarded to an active user.
Lync on-premise at least had the ability to define ranges of unassigned numbers and configure them with an announcement.
Please add some sort of handling for unassigned numbers outside of ringing busy. I would really like to have the ability to configure unassigned numbers to each forward to a particular user.
There is also a suggestion related to unassigned numbers included under the "Auto Attendant" suggestion, but I wanted to put this request in specifically as well.
Five years later and a call today to support confirms this is still not available for Teams Voice, MS Phone, the new name for SFB. Unreal! Official answer: maintain paid user accounts and forward each user's number to the new destination within their account. Not at all practical fiscally or technically. It requires the maintenance of numerous paid zombie accounts to maintain call continuity. Cloud PBX systems still have some significant growing up to do.
Three years later and this feature has not being even considered.

Agree this is needed asap
This is basic functionality for any phone system. I am shocked that MS hasn't thought enough to provide basic call forwarding. When a user leaves the company or moves to a new office and receives a new number their old number must go somewhere.

The lack of this feature could constitute a lost of business if the caller assumes the disconnected number means the business is no longer open and/or in a decline. This basic functionality was available in the older system and it needs to be in now.

This is an important feature for business so that sales calls to former employees can be routed to the operator or some auto-attendant. We utilized this feature in our on-premise installation of Lync Server 2013 and it's disappointing it's unavailable in our online tenant. Please plan to add this to S4B Online or Teams as telephony features like this transition to that service.

This feature needs to be added asap!

In the same boat. Any chance this option has become available yet. I could not find it on the Admin Portal.
